Sound bar ... yes or no ?
|
Thinking of getting a sound bar for my TV . Only looking at £100 - £150. Are they worthwhile and any recommendations?

Definitely improves sound. Had a decent LG one but ended up using that with the computer and got the Sky one. Pretty good piece of kit.

Isn’t that a bomb the bass track?
The general advice for AV stuff is to go to Ritcher Sounds .

I bought an Onkyo sound base which my Panasonic 43 inch plasma sits on.The sound range is brilliant with the sub woofer for films. I've only had the volume up half way as I can't afford new windows yet.

Its a yes from me.
I got a Samsung one a few years back and its excellent. You might have to spend a little bit more than 100quid to get a decent one.

JVC have one in that price range which is quite good. Sonos will cost a fortune.

What Kirok1 said.
The Sonos Playbar is about £700, so very pricey, although it is very good as you can also stream music through it. They also do something called Beam which is £400. If you’ve a Sky subscription they were doing a special offer on a Devialet soundbox at about £250 iirc. A high quality manufacturer, and less than half the price of the Sonos (although without all the bells-and-whistles streaming stuff).

I bought a Sony Bravia 4k smart tv and received a Sony sound bar as part of the deal I love it and comes into it's own with Netflix/Amazon productions.

Got a pricy Yamaha one few years ago, really poor, echoed like fuck. dumped it after a while.
I think the layout and size of the room makes a fair bit of difference as to if you should get one as well

Size & layout of room important as Irish said, I live in a 16th century cottage, so have a fairly small front room is served very well by the Sonos Beam, which does TV & music/radio streaming duties excellently..
